Values
We believe that no one should go hungry.
Since our inception in 1983, we have sought to welcome all people who may need food assistance. We value each one who comes and we invite clients to return to the Pantry as often as they may need.
We believe in the essential dignity of each person - clients and volunteers.
We encourage the participation of anyone who would like to serve their community. And we encourage youth and young adults to work with us, to cultivate compassionate action and educate about hunger in our community.
We network with other organizations in the community that may provide additional forms of assistance, including information about housing, health care and services for those experiencing homelessness.
How Do I Get Food?
If you are in need, you qualify to receive a bag providing enough food for several days. Each bag contains cans of vegetables, fruit, protein, soup, cereal, rice, pasta, beans and peanut butter. Fresh fruit, bread, eggs, and vegetables when available.

How It Began...
The Interfaith Food Pantry opened its doors on March 13, 1983 in a Sunday school room at First Christian Church with Temple Beth Hillel providing storage space for the food and packing. Today, these two congregations graciously continue to donate their space to the NHIFP. Find out how to get involved, hold food drives, offer donations or reach out to us at info@nhifp.org.
